Abertawe Medical Partnership now uses Ask My GP 

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought about a change in the way we book appointments for clinicians.

GP appointments are no longer available for booking in advance - there are a few exceptions to this, in these cases you will have been given a date and time to attend by a member of the practice team.

Nursing or HCA appointments for all healthcare including chronic disease checks, injections or blood tests are available to book 7 days in advance.

Requests for GP appointments will be Care Navigated by our highly skilled reception team who will provide you with advice about who can help you with your health need : this could be a telephone consultation with the nurse, pharmacist or GP or another healthcare provider within the community.

Interpreter

If you require an interpreter to help you at your appointment please notify the receptionist. The practice can arrange for an interpreter for you but this does require booking in advance of the day of attendance

High Street surgery is closed on Tuesday and Fridays.

If you have an urgent request please call the surgery and speak to a receptionist. Patients who are clinically triaged and deemed urgent will be offered a same day appointment.

We offer same day consultations for all children under the age of 16 presenting with and acute illness. 

A Cluster Pharmacist will be supporting the GP's in surgery on Friday morning.

Telephone Advice

As an additional service, GP’s will be able to provide advice over the telephone. Please give your full name, date of birth and contact telephone number to the receptionist answering the call, as well as a brief description of the problem so that the GP can prioritize the call.

Please restrict requests to speak to a GP in the afternoon for urgent problems only.  If your request is taken after 11.30am then you may be advised to call back the next morning depending on the urgency.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 11:00am if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the Practice. Your GP will arrange a visit at home by our cluster paramedic Keith and will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. You will be contacted via telephone by the GP to assess your need for a home visit.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. Y

The surgery now runs and open clinic for the homeless and vulnerable adults.

This is available every Monday between the hours of 10.30 and 12pm.
